On August 7, 1991 the world wide web became publicly available on the Internet for the first time. Can you believe it, the world wide web is only 16 years old. It is truly amazing to see how much the Internet has evolved in just 16 years. At the same time it may be even more interesting to consider the endless possibilities of the Internet and what the future has in store for it. Tim Berners-Lee and Robert Cailliau can be regarded as the fathers of the world wide web.
It was first server and browser developed by Berners-Lee and Cailliau that helped bring about the web we know of today. The world wide web of today is far more advanced and sophisticated when compared to the one created by Berners-Lee and Cailliau although we must remember that it essentially operates on the same basic principles developed by both Berners-Lee and Cailliau 16 years ago.
