How To Unfreeze an iPod
The iPod by Apple has grown to become one of the most popular music/video players in history. Almost every person has one or at least knows of a person with an iPod. If you own an iPod you may notice that the device occasionally freezes and stops working. If this ever happens to you, don't worry - it is quite common. We will provide you with one method on how to properly unfreeze your frozen iPod. One of the most popular and effective ways to unfreeze your iPod is to hold down the middle and top button for about 10 seconds. This should help unfreeze the device. In some cases you may notice that the common steps to unfreeze the iPod are not working and in this case you may want to visit your local electronics store, the store you purchased the iPod from, your local Apple retailer or contact Apple support directly. Hopefully you never have to go through this but if you do - you are now partially prepared.

For all of you people out there i who post commonts on helping people unfreeze their ipod i appreciate it, but just to let you know sometimes you need a back up plan because it doesn'y always work, such as in my case.
hey everyone out there. my ipod froze one time and i tried the whole "hold the buttons down" thing and it didn't work. So i just let the battery run died and then plugged it back into the computer and it worked. So if the buttons thing isn't working just let the battery run died that should work.
HOLD DOWN MENU AND THE CENTER BUTTON AT THE SAME TIME 4 AT LEAST 6 SECONDS.

Thanks. I had forgotten how to unfreeze it, and lost the FAQ thing that came with my iPod Video.
I've also used the method of just letting the battery die.. but I wanted to listen to my iPod while I gamed xD
goodness i just get done loading my song and i went to go and listen to them a bam ... my ipod is frozen i was pissed. so iam sitting here trying to figure it out and i went on all of these web sites and none of it worked so THANK YOU!

o.k so i just got my ipod three hours ago so excited right so then al of a sudeden im playing a game and it stops i start panking i held the button in 6 different ways and times i looked all over the internet could'nt find anything that would help me it stuck on solitare and it's not on hold it doe'snt move nothing just got 3 hours ago...i spent 300 $ on the thing any other ideas help please

hey. this has happened to me a couple of times, but usually only when the battery is low. make sure the hold button is off. hold down the menu and center for anywhere form 6 to 15 seconds. if an apple sign comes up, just plug in your ipod and let it charge for a while. if not go to www.apple.com and click on support. it has helped me out alot. hope this helped:)

i used to wait for my ipod to run out of battery, but i found the simplest solution. the tips for holding down buttons in this website was wrong; i went to the official website and it said to hold the menu button and the center button (NOT THE BOTTOM BUTTON!!) to restart it (and don't worry, all of your music, files, etc. won't be erased)i tried it and it worked
