You should never underestimate the value of your domain name. Your domain name will typically be the way people will know and remember how to get to your website. This means that if your domain name is difficult or to long for your users to remember, you may be in trouble. All domain names must be unique and no more than one person or organization could have a particular domain name. For example only one person in the entire world can register http://www.your-domain.com - this means that as more people get on the web and as the Internet grows, your chances of registering the best domain name possible most likely decreases. Therefore if you are yet to start a web site but have been thinking about it for a while, don't wait too much longer before registering the domain name. Please understand that you could always register the domain name and then setup the web site at another time, when you are ready. You never are forced to start the website immediately after registering your domain name - you always have time. Just to be safe, if you find domain name(s) that interest you and are available, make sure to register them as soon as possible. With iPowerWeb you can register many different type of domain name extensions for only $6.50 per year and if you purchase a web hosting account, your domain name is free for as long as you keep your hosting account with us. Also if you have already registered your domain name elsewhere, you can always transfer your domain name registration to be registered with iPowerWeb as well as transfer your hosting accounts from other hosts to iPowerWeb.
Just remember that if you are considering registering a new domain name, make sure that it is the best domain name possible for your web site. You want something that is catchy, sends your message across, and easy to remember. If you are not sure about which domain name to choose, ask your friends, family and business associates what they think of the domain names in order to help you make the decision. Don't forget that all domain names registered with us cost only $6.50 per year, this means that you could probably purchase three or four domain names with iPowerWeb for the price of just one domain name with many of our competitors. If you need any help with registering your new domain name, please call us at 888-511-HOST.

Does iPowerWeb support my website if I live in Italy? The answer is Yes. We at iPowerWeb support all sorts of web sites and it never matters where you are located. Almost all domain name extensions can be hosted on iPowerWeb servers. All of our plans our priced in U.S. dollars. 401 Unauthorized Error: What is it...
If you regularly visit this page you probably know that we love to address common questions raised by our existing and potential users as well as provide you with helpful tips regarding your web hosting account and the Internet. Today we would like to discuss 401 Errors. If you are a common user of the Internet, you may have run into this error once or twice before. A 401 error indicates that the login credentials provided by the user are not being accepted by the server.
When you are trying to enter a password protected folder, you must log in with the correct username and password. If either one is incorrect, you will be prompted to log in again. You will be given three attempts and then you will see the 401 error code. Be sure you are typing in the correct information. Also, make sure CAPS lock is not on. Often times, this is the reason for the error. When password protecting a folder, be sure you have added the user and password to the password protected folder.
If you are certain the information you are using is correct, please give us a call or send us an email so that we may diagnose this issue in order to provide an appropriate resolution.

What Is An NJABL Error While Sending An Email
Many people around the world use email for both personal and business reasons. iPowerWeb has gained great respect for its web hosting services and is currently one of the world's largest web hosting providers. Included with every shared web hosting account is our very popular email services. This does not occur on a regular basis although at some point you may run into a NJABL error while sending an email. The NJABL error message means that you have not authenticated with our mail server recently, so you are not an 'authorized sender'. The mail server sees you are coming from a Dynamic/Residential IP range (like a dialup connection or cable modem), and spits out this error. In order to fix the error, you can try the following:
A. Just hit the 'Send/Receive' button in your email client a few times, then try to resend the message.
B. Click Send/Receive before composing an email. This way, you have 20 minutes to send the email and will not see the error.
C. (Recommended) You can tell the email client NOT to send messages immediately. This is the recommended method. This way, you compose a message, take as long as you need, click send, and when you're ready to send it out, click Send/Receive.
MS OUTLOOK:
- Open Outlook
- Click on Tools and choose Options
- Click the Mail Setup Tab
- Uncheck "Send Immediately When Connection"
- Click OK and make sure the Outbox is empty.
- Close Outlook and open it once more.
- From this point on, you should no longer see this error.
MS OUTLOOK EXPRESS:
- Open Outlook Express
- Click on Tools and choose Options
- Click the SEND Tab
- Uncheck "Send Messages Immediately"
- Click OK and make sure the Outbox is empty.
- Close Outlook Express and open it once more.
- From this point on, you should no longer see this error.
If you are using a program other than Outlook and see this error, please contact the manufacturer for ways to configure their email client to do the same in order to avoid the error. If you need more information regarding our email services or have any other web hosting related questions, please contact us.

403 Forbidden Error: What To Do
When surfing the Internet you may run into a 403 Error every once in a while. A 403 error means that you have been forbidden access to entire the site. In some cases you may want to forbid access to certain people who wish to enter your web site.
This error usually indicates that the web server is refusing to fulfill your request even though it understood what you were trying to do. The server may provide details as to why this occurs, but this may not always be the case. A 403 error can be caused by a number of different reasons and we will examine a few of them and the resolutions.
1) If you notice, some folders allow you to access and view a listing of their files. On most of our servers, indexes are off. This means that you can create a folder and put many files in it without an index file present. When a user goes to that folder, the folder will not list its contents because indexes are off. The user who navigates to that folder will see a forbidden 403 error message. If this is the case with your folder, and you do not want users to see a 403 message, be sure you have uploaded an index file such as index.html, index.htm, index.php, and so on. You only need one index file which will be your main page.
2) This error can also be seen if you try to access a file or folder that does not have its permissions set correctly. For example, when running a script on our servers, the permissions for "the folder that contains the script" and "the script file" must be 755. If you set the permissions to 700, you will see a forbidden error. Also, make sure the public_html folder is always 755 for best performance. On a windows server, you may need to set access to allow "modify" to a file or folder to avoid this error.
3) A .htaccess file can also be the cause of a 403 forbidden error. A .htaccess file can be used to prevent hotlinking, ban certain IPs, turn off directory indexes, etc. If you run into a 403 and it is not your intention, look to see if you have a .htaccess file in your folders and rename it to something else. That may do the trick. Note: If you use frontpage, it is not a good idea to get rid of this file altogether because frontpage uses this file. Also, removing this file will undo any password protected directories, banned ips, hotlinking protection, index settings, you may have set up.
If you have tried the preceding three options and have not been successful, please give our tech line a call or email us and we will look into this further. We strive to provide you with the best hosting services in the world, do not hesitate in contacting us.

SSI (Server Side Includes) Support
Do iPowerWeb servers support SSI? Maybe you are first asking yourself, what is an SSI? By reading the title of this page you are probably aware that SSI stands for Server Side Includes, although this does not help us at all when we are trying to figure out the definition of SSI. To out it simple terms SSI is a type of HTML comment that directs the Web server to dynamically generate data for the web page upon request. Every once in a while we get calls (as well as emails) from both existing and potential iPowerWeb customers wanting more information on what SSI is and whether or not we support it.
Hopefully you now have some basic understanding of what SSI is, although you now may be wondering if iPowerWeb supports SSI. Well as is the case with many other programs and features, iPowerWeb hosting does support SSI. Please make sure that if you use SSI's that your permissions are set correctly. For best results, set all files involved in SSI to 755 permissions. Also, be sure that the extension is either PHP or SHTML.
